England Women were chasing a third straight title but were defeated by Spain 4.5-2.5 on Saturday afternoon in Finland, while the boys produced an emphatic 5.5-1.5 victory over Germany to secure the bronze in Geneva, Switzerland.
The women's contest could have gone either way for most of the afternoon after the morning foursomes saw both teams take a point apiece, but Jess Baker, Rosie Belsham, Charlotte Heath, Caley McGinty, Patience Rhodes and Lottie Woad took home a richly-deserved set of silver medals.

There was disappointment for England's men in their bronze medal match as they went down to defeat to Ireland at Royal Waterloo Golf Club in Belgium. Meanwhile, England's girls ended their European Team Championship campaign with a closely-fought battle against Ireland but unfortunately came out on the wrong side of a 3-2 scoreline.
