England Golf are delighted to announce that media platform, GolfMagic, has become the first golf media outlet to sign its Respect in Golf pledge.
By signing the pledge, GolfMagic is committed to ensuring everyone is treated fairly in a safe environment, and feels a sense of belonging within the sport.
The Respect in Golf movement has seen all 60 counties and 1735 affiliated golf clubs sign the England Golf Terms of Affiliation, as the governing body looks to drive inclusivity and accessibility within the game, and stamp out discrimination.
GolfMagic Director Christian Maiden said: “On both a business and personal level, I am extremely proud that GolfMagic has become the first golf media outlet to sign the Respect in Golf pledge. We're not just signing a pledge, we're entering into a relationship with England Golf to actively promote the values of Respect in Golf.
“As a leading voice in golf, we believe that our platform can and should play a crucial role in amplifying England Golf's message and helping to make the game more welcoming and accessible to individuals from all backgrounds. We're excited to work alongside England Golf and contribute to the growth and diversification of the golfing community."
GolfMagic Editor Andy Roberts said: "Signing England Golf's Respect in Golf pledge was an easy decision. Golf should be a game for everyone – regardless of background, ability, or identity. As the sport continues to evolve, it's crucial that we all play our part in driving inclusivity, making golf more accessible, and ensuring discrimination has no place on or off the course."
England Golf Communications & Data Director Ben White added: “We’re thrilled that GolfMagic are as passionate as we are in helping to change long-held perceptions of the game and opening golf up to people of all walks of life.
“You don’t have to play 18 holes to be a golfer. We recognise that golf is for everyone and anyone who picks up a club – whether that’s at a driving range, adventure golf, or on the course – we consider you to be a golfer.
“GolfMagic is a platform that is aiming to reach out to a wider golfing audience and with 5.5million people in the country playing some form of golf every year, we want to encourage as many people to go as far as they wish on their golfing journeys – whether that just be hitting balls down the range, taking the family to play mini golf, or becoming an avid club member.
“We hope more golfing bodies will follow in pledging their commitment to the movement, so we can positively impact the game and welcome many more people from various backgrounds and abilities in the years to come.”
