England Golf announces Senior Women’s Squads

England Golf is pleased to confirm its Senior Women’s Team for the upcoming European Team Championship and Home Internationals. 

Julia Brook, Sarah Naden, Sally Shayler, Catherine Rawthore, Kerry Smith and Tracey Williamson are named in the six-player team for the European Senior Ladies’ Team Championship, while all six will also be in the seven-player team for the Senior Women’s Home Internationals, with the addition of Emma Brown. Sophie Beardsall is named as first reserve.

The European competition takes place at Pula Golf Resort, Spain, from 2-6 September, before the Women's & Men's Home Internationals at Ferndown Golf Club (Dorset) from 16-18 September. 

England Senior Women’s Team Manager Angela Jones said: “I am delighted to have such a strong team to take to our major international championships. It is a great blend of experience and talented, younger seniors. We will be aiming to bring home medals from both events.”

•    3rd-place finish at 2025 English Senior Women’s Stroke Play 
•    Top-5 finish at 2025 Scottish Senior Women’s Open 

Sarah Naden (The Wilmslow, Cheshire)
•    Winner of 2025 English Senior Women’s Amateur 
•    Runner-up in 2025 Cheshire Senior Women’s Championship

Sally Shayler (The Bedfordshire, Bedfordshire)
•    Finished 1st in the stroke play stages at the 2025 English Senior Women’s Amateur 
•    Won back-to-back Welsh Women’s Open Senior Championships (2023 and 2024)
•    Reached quarter-finals of 2025 English Senior Women’s Amateur 
•    Represented England at European Senior Ladies’ Team Championship and Senior Women’s & Men’s Home Internationals in both 2024 and 2023 

Kerry Smith (Waterlooville, Hampshire)
•    Winner of 2024 English Senior Women’s Stroke Play 
•    Winner of 2023 English Senior Women’s Amateur 
•    Represented England at European Senior Ladies’ Team Championship and Senior Women’s & Men’s Home Internationals in 2024, 2023 and 2022
•    Top-5 finish at 2025 English Senior Women’s Stroke Play Catherine Rawthore (Sale, Cheshire)
•    Winner of 2023 English Senior Women’s Stroke Play 
•    Winner of English Senior Women’s Amateur in 2016 and 2022
•    Winner of 2025 Cheshire Senior Women’s 
•    Top-5 finish at 2025 English Senior Women’s Stroke Play
•    Represented England at European Senior Team Championship on seven occasions

Tracey Williamson (Sheringham, Norfolk)
•    Winner of 2021 English Senior Women’s Stroke Play 
•    Runner-up in 2022 English Senior Women’s Amateur 
•    Top-15 finish at 2025 Senior Women’s Amateur
•    Represented England at European Senior Ladies’ Team Championship and Senior Women’s & Men’s Home Internationals in 2024, 2023 and 2022

Emma Brown (Malton & Norton, Yorkshire)
•    3rd-place finish at 2025 Senior Women’s Amateur 
•    Reached semi-finals of 2025 English Senior Women’s Amateur
•    Won the 2025 England Senior Women’s Order of Merit
•    Represented England at last three Senior Women’s & Men’s Home Internationals 

First Reserve: Sophie Beardsall (Greetham Valley, Lincolnshire)
•    Top-5 finish in 2025 English Senior Women’s Stroke Play 
•    Top-5 finish in stroke play stages of 2025 English Senior Women’s Amateur 
•    Won gold medal at 2025 Island Games in Orkney
