England Golf is delighted to announce its teams for the World Amateur Team Championships at Tanah Merah Country Club, Singapore, in October.

England Women’s trio Nellie Ong (Eaton, Norfolk), Annabel Peaford (Walton Heath, Surrey) and Patience Rhodes (Burnham & Berrow, Somerset) will compete for the Espirito Santo Trophy from 1-4 October, with Steve Robinson as Team Coach and Jenny Henderson as Team Captain/Manager.
England Men’s trio Eliot Baker (Tiverton, Devon), Charlie Forster (Basingstoke, Hampshire) and Tyler Weaver (Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk) will be vying to win the 34th Eisenhower Trophy from 8-11 October. Rob Watts will be Team Coach while Benjamin Gorvett is Team Manager/Captain.
England’s best finish was a runners-up medal for the Eisenhower Trophy in 2016, having previously won the event as Great Britain & Ireland in 1998, 1988, 1976 and 1964. Individual winners of the event have included England Golf Hall of Famers Peter McEvoy OBE and Sir Michael Bonallack (shared), as well as Ronnie Shade.
England has medalled once (bronze) in the Espirito Santo Trophy in 1964 – in a side which included England Golf Hall of Famer Bridget Jackson, while England have picked up silver as part of Great Britain & Ireland in 1992 and 1974, and bronze in 2000, 1990, 1988, 1984 and 1982. The Women narrowly missed out on medalling last time out in 2023, finishing tied-4th.
England Golf Performance Director Nigel Edwards said: “The World Team Championships are one of the big dates on the calendar every two years. We’ve had a great year individually and collectively, and while we expect to be competing, we would love to make some history in Singapore.”
