England's Ella Butteriss broke the Aberdovey Golf Club course record with a -11 on her way to winning the 54-hole Welsh Women's Open Stroke Play Championship.
The Beaconsfield golfer shot an incredible -11 (64) on day one, which included seven birdies and two eagles, to break the course record on Friday, before enjoying rounds of -5 on each of Saturday and Sunday to finish on a superb -21.
She finished two shots clear of England Golf Women's Squad star Lily Hirst (Huddersfield) on -19, while England Girls' Squad player Lauren Crump, who won the Rose Ladies Series professional golf event on Wednesday at Southport & Ainsdale, finished 3rd on -14.
Another England Golf Squad member in Annabel Peaford finished 4th on -12, as Englishwomen dominated the top of the leaderboard.
Butteriss said: "It’s amazing, definitely my biggest win to date and going wire-to-wire makes it really special!
"The turning point was holing a couple of long putts for birdie on the 8th and then for eagle on the 10th on the final day. That got me a few in front and then making one of the best bogeys of my life down the 14th after losing a ball left and making ‘birdie’ with my second ball, kept me a couple ahead with four to play, which felt crucial at the time.
"Although shooting the course record in round 1 was great fun and a proud moment, the standout moment of the week would be holing the five-foot putt for birdie on the last hole in front of the clubhouse - and then looking up at my dad knowing we’d done it. That was so special sharing that moment with him!
"I had a few pictures taken after the course record with my scorecard and a lot of well dones from the club which was lovely!
"The trophy will be sat proudly in my living room I expect, as mum won’t let me have it upstairs hidden away in my bedroom!
"I’d love now to keep pushing on for more trophies and moments like that this season because it was so much fun competing and being amongst it coming down the final stretch. Lots of golf to come this year and hopefully I’ll keep putting myself in positions to win."
