Australia’s Jazy Roberts blew away the field with a bogey-free final-round -8 to emphatically secure the England Women’s Stroke Play title at Ganton.
The Victoria native fired an eagle and six birdies, including three in a row from holes 13–15, to close on -13, finishing seven shots clear of Switzerland’s Carlotta Locatelli (-6).
In challenging, windy conditions, the pair were the only players under par across all four rounds — but it was the 21-year-old who found another gear.
After opening with a bogey-free 69 (-5) and a level-par 74, Roberts was joined by local favourite Cherry Marley at the top of the leaderboard.
But a -3 front nine in round three pushed the Australian Amateur Champion clear of the pack, and the Women's World Amateur No.37 powered home to join fellow Australian Abbie Teasdale and Charley Hull as winners of this prestigious title.
“It’s an honour,” said Roberts. “I knew Abbie had won a few years ago and we talked about it a little bit, but any win is special."I’m very happy — to shoot -8 is really nice. You have to keep the ball in play, avoid big numbers, and be in the fairway. You also have to take advantage of the par-5s, which I think I did reasonably well. I had a few eagles this week, so that helps.
"I’ve been playing well the last few weeks, although we haven’t had much tournament golf in Australia. I was excited to get here — it’s a really nice course.”
The English Women’s Stroke Play Championship is a European Amateur Order of Merit (EAOM) event for 2026, and Roberts’ victory earns her an invitation to an LET Access Series event.
“I had no idea — so yes, that will be special,” she added. “I’ve got British Am next week, a few events in the US, and then maybe look at turning pro after that.”
Elsewhere, defending champion and England Women’s Squad player Sadie Adams finished 3rd on level par, edging Marley on countback.
Slovenia’s Barbara Car rounded out the prizes with rounds of 73, 74, 75 and 75 to finish 5th on +1. Click here for the final scores.
