England Golf Girls’ Squad star Lauren Crump has won the ANNIKA Invitational Europe at Upsala Golf Club in Sweden, in record-breaking fashion.
The 16-year-old shot a mesmerising -12 across her three rounds – 10 shots clear of her nearest challenger – the biggest ever margin of victory in the tournament’s history (with the previous record being four shots).
The event, founded by legendary Swedish golfer Annika Sorenstam (pictured above right), started in 2012, and Crump became just the second English winner of the event, since Lily May Humphreys’ victory in 2019.
The Hill Valley golfer fired an eagle and four birdies in a 6-under round on the opening day, before being 3-under on day two. Carrying a nine-shot lead into the final round, she produced a bogey-free 3-under to finish 10 clear of Sofia Maier-Borst (Germany) in 2nd.
Shropshire’s Crump, who has enjoyed a whirlwind 12 months with wins at the 2026 Rose Ladies Series at Southport & Ainsdale (professional) and 2026 Hampshire Rose, and back-to-back wins in the 2024 and 2025 English Girls' Stroke Play Championship and English Women's County Champion of Champions, said: "She said: "To win the ANNIKA is incredible, it was a target event for me going into the season and to get the win gives me huge amounts of confidence for the season ahead. This victory is one of my top victories, it’s a highly competitive European event and shows that I can compete internationally.
"Although I had a nine-shot lead in the last round, I still decided to play my normal game plan which led to me having two bogey-free rounds. One of my standout moments was definitely the eagle that started my 6-under and led me to get more birdies in the round!
"I’m going to celebrate with my family probably having a nice meal and enjoying the moment, and I’m going to put my trophies in my room next to my Rose Ladies Series trophy as one of my favourites, along with my clinic picture signed by Annika which I got this week.
"Meeting Annika was an incredible experience, she is an inspiration in women’s golf and during the clinic we talked about warm up routines and dealing with pressure , which helped me a lot."
