England Golf announces teams for European Championships

England Golf is pleased to announce its four teams for the upcoming European Team Championships, as its women’s, men’s, girls’ and boys’ teams go in search of medals across the continent.

All four tournaments take place from 7-11 July. Find out information about each team and event below.

England Men

England Men will be looking to improve on last year’s impressive bronze medal as they travel to Estonian Golf & Country Club (Estonia) for the European Amateur Team Championship. England are the most decorated nation at the event, having won 11 times and finished runners-up on 10 occasions – but the last win came in 2013 in Denmark.

Coach Rob Watts said: “I’m extremely excited by this team. It has a blend of experience and proven international success around the world. This is a tight team who know each other and have played for each other. We go to Estonia to fight for the gold medal.” Find out about the six players below.

Eliot Baker, Tiverton (Devon)
- Won the individual title at the 2026 European Nations Cup in Sotogrande, with a tournament record of -15, including five birdies in the final five holes of the event. It also helped England win the team title by an enormous 14 shots
- Runner-up at the 2026 Spanish Amateur Championship
- Runner-up at the 2026 Brabazon Trophy (English Men's Stroke Play)
- Won the 2025 Portuguese Amateur Championship
- Won the 2025 Scottish Men’s Open Championship

England Women

Again, England Women are the most decorated nation in the history of the European Ladies’ Team Championship, having won 12 times and been runners-up seven times. They will be searching for a first win since 2022 when they travel to Ireland to play at Slieve Russell PGA National.

England Girls

England Girls will be aiming to repeat their 2024 success where they won the European Girls’ Team Championship in Sweden for just the second time ever. After missing out in the quarter-finals last time out on home soil at Slaley Hall, the team head to Zurich Golf & Country Club in Switzerland to try and challenge once again.

Coach John Watson said: “I’m excited about the team we have this year who have all been playing well going into the event. The course in Zurich is challenging with lots of elevation changes, but I believe we can go all the way again like we did in 2024.” Find out about the six players below.

Lauren Crump, Hill Valley (Shropshire)
- Winner of the 2026 ANNIKA Invitational (Sweden), becoming just the second English winner and winning by a tournament record margin of 10 shots (previous record being four shots)
- Winner of the 2026 Rose Ladies Series professional event at Southport & Ainsdale Golf Club as an amateur, at just 16 years old (her second pro event)

England Boys

England Boys have won the most gold medals at the European Boys’ Team Championship (eight times) but will be hunting a first win since 2004 at Barceló Montecastillo Golf in Spain.

Coach Steven Orr said: “I’m really excited about the team we have going into the Europeans. All of the boys have had fantastic seasons and deserve their place in the team. We had a training camp at the venue in February to get to know the course and we are prepared for some very hot weather throughout the week.
