Golf Week returned to Woodhall Spa, bringing together more than 300 golfers for a celebration of the game across the Hotchkin and Bracken courses.
The annual showcase featured a packed programme of events and handicap finals, including the Junior Champion Club, Race to Woodhall Spa, iGolf Final, Australian Spoons and Titleist Women's Four-Ball.
At its heart, Golf Week is a celebration of the people who make the game so special. Bringing together golfers of all ages, abilities and experience levels, the event showcased the broad appeal of the sport and the opportunities it provides to players at every stage of their golfing journey. That diversity was matched by the quality of golf on display, with competitors producing a host of notable performances throughout the week.

JUNIOR CHAMPION CLUB - STURMINSTER MARSHALL GC
Sturminster Marshall Golf Club claimed the 2026 English Junior Champion Club title after posting a winning 36-hole total of 144 points on the Bracken Course.
The Dorset side of Sophie Chapman, Abigail Cartwright-Terry and Freddie Jewell produced rounds of 77 and 67, with all three players contributing to the team's score across the two days. In the competition, the two best Stableford scores from three players counted towards the team total in each round.
Sturminster Marshall took control of the championship on the opening day, carding 77 points to establish a three-point lead. Chapman's superb 40 points, alongside Cartwright-Terry's 37, gave the Dorset club the overnight advantage. Leominster Golf Club (Shropshire & Herefordshire) sat 2nd on 74 points, while Newcastle-under-Lyme Golf Club (Staffordshire) were a further point back in 3rd heading into round two.
The leaders held their nerve in the final round, with Chapman once again contributing strongly with 38 points, while Jewell added 29 points as Sturminster Marshall secured victory by two points.
Cartwright-Terry said: “It feels amazing, we’re such a small club from Dorset, so to come up here and win it, is such a proud moment It’s a very proud moment to be captain in my last year in junior golf. Coming all the way from Sturminster Marshall, I would like to thank Mike Dodd our coach.”
Breadsall Priory Golf Club (Derbyshire), represented by George Naylor, Ethan Rodgers and Oliver Cox, surged into 2nd place after recording a joint-best second-round score of 70 points. Naylor starred with an outstanding 43-point haul, backed up by Rodgers' 27 points, helping the team finish on 142 points.
Leominster, represented by Ollie and William Perrott alongside Michael Cooper, finished tied-3rd on 141 points alongside Newcastle-under-Lyme Golf Club. Newcastle-under-Lyme's team of Ronnie Smith, Johnny Podmore and Oliver Godbold also posted a total of 141 points as the two sides shared 3rd place. View the final standings here.
JUNIOR RACE TO WOODHALL SPA - RYAN CORDEIRO
Ryan Cordeiro, 17, (Finchley) emerged victorious in the Junior Race to Woodhall Spa Final, sponsored by Your Golf Travel, after posting an impressive 45 Stableford points on the Hotchkin Course.
The 28-handicapper, who qualified through the regional area final at Dunstable Downs, rose to the challenge of the renowned layout, recording six pars on his way to a winning total that left him five points clear of the chasing pack.
Cordeiro said: “It’s amazing! It was really tough out there, but really nice to come away winning it! The course is running so firm, the bunkers are unforgiveable if you go in them, but if you avoid them, it’s a lot of fun out there!”
Last year's champion Harry Derham (Davenport) finished runner-up on countback after posting 40 points from his 20 handicap. Derham matched the winner's tally of six pars during a solid defence of his title.
Royal North Devon’s Euan Greenslade was level on points with Derham after an impressive round off his 13 handicap. Greenslade recorded seven pars and picked up birdies on the par-5 9th and 14th holes to secure third place on countback. View the final standings here.
MEN'S RACE TO WOODHALL SPA - KEVIN BRISTOW
Bournemouth & Meyrick Park’s Kevin Bristow claimed victory in the Men’s Race to Woodhall Spa Final, sponsored by Your Golf Travel, after posting 39 Stableford points on the Hotchkin Course.
The 18-handicapper carded five pars and two birdies, with the birdies coming on consecutive holes at the par-3 5th and par-5 6th. Bristow finished one point clear of Mendip’s John Shakesby, who posted 38 points. Playing off a 23 handicap, Shakesby recorded four pars and a birdie.
Bristow said: “I rarely win anything, so it means quite a lot! It was a very enjoyable experience, well organised and the course was lovely!”
3rd place was decided on countback after three players returned 37 points. Mason Hannant (The Links Country Park), playing off a 25 handicap, claimed the final podium spot ahead of Michael Knapton (Mardyke Valley, 14 handicap) and William Wood (Kirkbymoorside, 23 handicap). WOMEN'S RACE TO WOODHALL SPA - KATHARYN O'BRIEN
Crondon Park’s Katharyn O’Brien produced a memorable performance to claim the Women’s Race to Woodhall Spa Final, sponsored by Your Golf Travel, carding 39 Stableford points on the Hotchkin Course.
Playing off a 46 handicap, O’Brien finished one point clear of the chasing pack to secure the title. Her victory was made all the more impressive given the journey she took to reach the final, overcoming a vertigo attack during the regional qualifier at Colne Valley before booking her place at Woodhall Spa.
She said: “I’m overwhelmed! It was very dry and tough but having had a practice round, it was much easier as I knew a bit more of what to expect. It was super, a very well organised event!”
Longridge’s Clare Cook and Hindley Hall’s Alicia Burgess both returned excellent rounds of 38 points, with Cook, edging into 2nd place on countback ahead of Burgess in 3rd. The closely contested final provided a fitting conclusion to the Race To Woodhall Spa event, with competitors across all three categories enjoying the challenge of one of England’s most celebrated championship layouts. iGOLF FINAL - BRAD CARTER
Brad Carter was crowned the 2026 iGolf Open champion after a brilliant 44-point performance in the season-ending final on the Hotchkin Course.
The final brought together qualifiers from six iGolf Open events, sponsored by Caddy Comps. The events were staged across England, with stops at Old Fold Manor, Wychwood Park, WGC London, Stoke Rochford, Malton & Norton, and Minchinhampton Old Course.
Carter finished three points clear of Tony Cooper on 41, with James Cunningham 3rd on 40, while Cath Healy claimed the leading female prize with 35 points.
Carter said: "I had a really good day and I'll definitely be back next year - I can't not challenge for another one now!"

TITLEIST WOMEN'S FOUR-BALL - KAREN KING & VICKY WHEELER
The inaugural Titleist Women's Four-Ball National Final took place on the Hotchkin Course, bringing together 32 pairs from affiliated clubs across England to compete for the first-ever title.
Introduced for 2026, the competition provided a straightforward and affordable route for clubs to enter. Clubs staged their own women's four-ball Stableford qualifier, with the leading pair earning their place at the National Final.
As a proud partner of England Golf and tournament sponsor, Titleist marked the occasion by presenting every finalist with a special commemorative prize. Additional prizes were awarded to the top three pairs following a closely contested final.
Sutton Green's Karen King and Vicky Wheeler were crowned the inaugural champions after returning an impressive 44 points, securing victory on countback. Newquay's Debbie Cain and Jan Barker also posted 44 points but had to settle for runners-up spot following the tie-break.
3rd place was also decided on countback after both Crowborough Beacon's Angela Fry and Jody Onslow and Hampton Court Palace's Deuk Hee Lee and Sunmin Chee finished on 43 points, but it was Fry and Onslow who claimed the final podium position to complete the prize winners.
The new event proved a successful addition to the Golf Week schedule, showcasing strong participation from clubs across the country and providing a memorable first chapter in the competition's history. View the final standings here.
AUSTRALIAN SPOONS - Amanda East & Jane Hollis
Tehidy's Amanda East and Jane Hollis were crowned Australian Spoons champions after producing the best score in the national final.
The Cornwall pair carded 29 points in the foursomes competition on the renowned Hotchkin Course to finish one point clear of Thorndon Park's Tracy Aston and Joanne Urry, who recorded 28 points, with Ashbourne's Anne Colwell and Karen Flanagan 3rd on 27.
They said: “It’s fantastic! A bit of surprise, we didn’t expect it as we found the course tough, but we’re really delighted with the outcome. The organisation was fantastic from start to finish from the accommodation to the course. The greenkeepers have done an amazing job, and it was great because we had such lovely playing partners. This course [Hotchkin] was fantastic, it was a real test, but we’re thrilled!”
The Australian Spoons is open to women with a Handicap Index® between 15.0 and 54.0 and brings together the winners from six regional qualifying finals from across England.
