England Golf names Senior Men’s teams for Euros & Home Internationals

England Golf is pleased to name its Senior Men’s teams for both the upcoming European Senior Men’s Team Championship and Senior Women’s & Men’s Home Internationals.

The teams will be captained by Andrew Atkinson, as they look to emulate their last European success in 2023 as they won in the Czech Republic.

They will also be looking to regain the Home Internationals title alongside the Women following last year’s disappointment where they pipped by Ireland on the last day.

Stephen Creed, Martin Hand, John Kennedy, Steve Standing, Matt Stanford and Martin Young are named in the six-player team to play at Cabot Bordeaux (France) from 1-5 September, while the same six players plus Danny Holmes will be in the seven-player side to play at the Home Internationals at Royal St David’s Golf Club, Wales, from 15-17 September.

• Won the 2026 European Senior Men’s Championship
• Won the 2026 Belgian International Senior Championship
• Reached quarter-finals of 2026 English Senior Men’s Amateur
• Top-10 finishes at 2026 R&A Senior Amateur and 2025 European Seniors Championship
• Winner of 2025 Men’s Lubumbashi International Open (DR Congo)
• 2nd-place finish at 2025 Spanish International Seniors' Championship
• Top-5 finish at 2025 Irish Seniors Men's Amateur Open, Portuguese Senior Men’s and Italian International Senior Amateur
• Represented England in Senior Women’s & Men’s Home Internationals in 2023, 2024 and 2025, and at European Senior Men’s Team Championship in 2023 (winners) and 2025

Danny Holmes (Sundridge Park, Kent)
• Reached the quarter-finals of the 2026 English Senior Men’s Amateur
• Won the 2024 England Golf Senior Men’s Order of Merit title
• Top-10 finish at 2025 English Senior Men’s Stroke Play Championship
• Reached the quarter-finals of the 2025 English Senior Men’s Amateur
• Represented England in the 2025 European Senior Men’s Team Championship and Women’s & Men’s Home Internationals

John Kennedy (Consett & District, Durham)
• Played in the 2026 U.S. Senior Open
• Won the 2025 R&A Senior Men’s Amateur Championship, finishing tied-6th in 2026
• Won the 2025 Scottish Senior Men’s Open Championship
• Won the 2025 Durham County Championship
• Represented England in the 2025 European Senior Men’s Team Championship and Women’s & Men’s Home Internationals

Steve Standing (The Hertfordshire, Hertfordshire)
• Won the 2026 South East Group Men's Seniors Championship
• Top-5 finish at 2026 English Senior Men’s Stroke Play Championship
• Top-10 finish at 2026 R&A Senior Men’s Amateur

Martin Young (Brokenhurst Manor, Hampshire)
• 3rd-place finish at 2026 English Senior Men’s Stroke Play Championship
• Reached the quarter-finals of the 2025 English Senior Men’s Amateur
• Represented England in the 2025 European Senior Men’s Team Championship and Women’s & Men’s Home Internationals
