Graham Bowers (Burnham on Crouch) was crowned the 2026 Senior Series champion after edging the two-day championship by a single point at The National Golf Centre at Woodhall Spa.

Having shot 32 points on day one on the Bracken Course, a 39-point haul on the Hotchkin Course on day two was enough to pip Alistair Booth (Frilford Heath) and John Hall (Brocton Hall) by one point.
Playing off 7 at the Bracken, Bowers managed nine pars, while on the Hotchkin with a handicap of 10, he shot eight pars and two birdies.
Bowers, who won a qualifying event at Stockport to book his spot at the event, admitted: “I’ve played in the final a few times and always finished in the middle of the field, so I’m chuffed to win it! It feels fantastic.
“On the Bracken – I decided that you can’t win it on the first day but you can lose it – so I just hung in there. I had a ropey start and I was quite happy with 32 points as I find the Bracken more difficult.
“On the Hotchkin I started really well with a birdie – having never parred it before – I thought I’d blown it on 17 when I blobbed it but I managed to par the last. I didn’t think it’d be enough so I was surprised!
“I said in the morning that I needed 40 points to give myself a chance. My playing partners John and Patrick kept me going all the way round. Today was my day.”
With 74 competing in the Grand Final field, the champion also praised the camaraderie and community of the Senior Series and England Captains, stating: “We always say it’s not all about the golf – we meet so many lifelong friends who we always meet up with at the events and go out in the evenings. The community is fantastic. I would thoroughly recommend it and we play some really nice courses.”
