England Golf Men’s Squad star Eliot Baker has officially turned professional after securing his place on the DP World Tour for the 2027 season.

The 23-year-old from Devon is the number-one ranked player on the DP World Tour's Global Amateur Pathway, and is inside the top 20 of the World Amateur Golf Rankings, meaning he has booked a spot on the international tour for next season.
He will now embark on an exciting new chapter in his career, having enjoyed a superb final season in the amateur ranks which saw him establish himself among Europe’s leading amateur golfers.
Baker ends his amateur career on a high after recently becoming the inaugural winner of the Men’s European Amateur Order of Merit, capping a memorable 2026 campaign.
Among the highlights was victory in the individual event at the European Nations Cup at Sotogrande, where he set a tournament record of 15-under-par and helped England to a commanding 14-shot victory in the team event. He also finished runner-up at both the Spanish Amateur Championship and Brabazon Trophy.
Baker was also part of the Great Britain & Ireland side which produced a historic comeback to win the Walker Cup at Lahinch in September, lifting the trophy for the first time since 2015.
His performances follow an equally impressive 2025 campaign, when the Tiverton golfer claimed both the Portuguese International Amateur Championship and Scottish Men’s Open Championship on his way to winning the England Men’s Order of Merit.
Baker has already shown he is capable of competing on the DP World Tour. He made his debut at the Nexo Championship in August while still an amateur and produced an outstanding performance to finish 15th, including a final round alongside major champion Patrick Reed.
Speaking after winning the European Amateur Order of Merit in September, Baker credited the England Golf pathway with playing an important role in his development, describing its structure as a “game changer” in helping him get closer to fulfilling his potential. Read more here.
Now, having secured his DP World Tour status, Baker will leave the amateur ranks and turn his attention towards establishing himself on the professional stage.
