Skratch Women has been named Women and Girls' Trailblazer of the Year at the England Golf Awards, hosted by Mark Chapman at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate, in recognition of its outstanding impact on female participation in golf.

In just three years, Skratch Women has transformed the golfing landscape for women in London and beyond, creating a welcoming, social, and accessible environment that encourages more women to take up the sport.
Their annual calendar of over 35 events – ranging from travel experiences and learning sessions, to corporate events and social gatherings – caters to golfers of all abilities, ensuring that every woman who participates feels comfortable and valued.
The initiative has already had a profound impact on women’s golf, with over 100 women completing structured learning programmes, 100+ women enjoying golf trips abroad, and countless newcomers introduced to the game through their popular ‘drinks and driving range’ events. Skratch Women is proving that golf is more than just a sport - it’s a vibrant, community-driven experience.
Beyond events, Skratch Women has built a thriving digital community, with over 3,000 social media followers and 300+ members engaging daily in their WhatsApp Community, launched in July 2024. This digital presence has played a key role in fostering a sense of connection and support for women looking to explore and enjoy golf.
Their innovative approach has also caught the attention of leading brands and corporate businesses, with partnerships with TaylorMade, Duca Del Cosma, and Travis Mathew highlighting Skratch Women’s influential role in shaping the future of women's golf.
Founder of Skratch Women, Caroline Shukla (pictured right), said: “It's an honour to have been nominated and for people in the community to have recognised the work that we're doing. It feels really special to be recognised for promoting women and girls in sport because I pour my heart and soul into the things that we do for our community and I've worked hard over the last three years doing it almost alongside full-time work, and it's really an area that I think we need to be doing more for and it's great that England Golf and the industry are recognising this field.
“Our biggest successes have been the number of women that we have put through our learning programmes, the amount of women that we have within our active community on WhatsApp, which has grown to over 300 women, and also we’ve taken over 100 women on trips abroad. The statistics are just increasing year on year and I'm super proud to introduce more and more women to the sport.
“In the next few years, we're hoping to expand more to the lifestyle business. We wanted to be able to introduce women to golf and show how golf can fit around their busy city lifestyles, their work schedules, and that extends beyond just playing golf. If people are looking to get into the game, it’s important to find your people who you want to do it with. We’ve cultivated a community of like-minded people who you can do that with, but if you feel nervous of joining a community or a group, then just find a friend who you can go to the driving range with and it makes it all that more relaxed and welcoming.
“It's super important for us to continue getting more women and girls involved in the sport, predominantly to show the mental health benefits of the game. Golf offers so many great things that benefit people from a professional and personal perspective, so we as an industry can help promote those benefits. But on top of that, from an industry perspective as well, there's a huge untapped market that we haven't been speaking to and there are women out there who want to get involved in the sport, it's just being able to give them a platform where they can."
