The renowned Hotchkin Course at The National Golf Centre at Woodhall Spa played host to the annual Boys’, Men’s and Senior Men’s County Champion of Champions across the weekend of 12-13 September. Find out about all the winners below.
Men’s: Mudford's magic seals play-off win
Dorset's Zac Mudford was the winner of the Men's County Champion of Champions after a thrilling three-way play-off at Woodhall Spa's Hotchkin Course, prevailing on the second extra hole following a gripping finish to the 36-hole championship.
Mudford, Rio Saigal (Hertfordshire) and Sam Done (Lincolnshire) could not be separated after regulation play, all finishing on 6-under-par and forcing the championship into a sudden-death play-off.
Mudford and Saigal both carded rounds of 71 (-2) and 69 (-4) to post their 6-under totals, while Done produced remarkable consistency with two rounds of 70 (-3).
The trio comfortably negotiated the opening play-off hole with pars, sending the contest down the second extra hole.
It was there that Mudford produced the decisive moment. After missing the green with his approach, the Dorset player showed impressive composure and touch around the greens to get up and down for a birdie. Both Saigal and Done were only able to make par, handing Mudford the title and bringing a memorable championship to a dramatic conclusion.
He said: “It means everything! It’s the first big event I’ve ever won. There’s some great names on the trophy, so it feels good!”
Just outside the play-off was Leo Cahi of Sussex, who was looking to add the Men's County Champion of Champions crown to the Boys' County Champion of Champions title he won last year.
Making the step up to the men's event, Cahi mounted a strong challenge with rounds of 70 (-3) and 72 (-1), finishing in 4th on 4-under-par, narrowly missing the chance to compete in the play-off. Check out the final leaderboard here.

Boys: Brilliant Beeston bags Boys' crown
Hampshire's Albie Beeston secured the Boys' County Champion of Champions title after defeating Nottinghamshire's William Psenko on the fourth extra hole of a dramatic play-off at Woodhall Spa's renowned Hotchkin Course.
The pair finished the 36-hole event tied at 1-under-par after an enthralling day of competition, before Beeston emerged victorious when fellow England Golf Regional Squad player Psenko missed a short putt for par on the fourth play-off hole.
Beeston, a member of the England Golf South Region Squad, showed tremendous resilience after opening his challenge with a 76 (+3) in the morning. The Hampshire youngster responded superbly in the afternoon, carding a 69 (-4) that included a stunning birdie-eagle finish.
Psenko, who represents the England Golf East Midlands Region Squad, delivered two consistently strong rounds of 74 and 71. The Nottinghamshire player matched Beeston's 1-under-par total to set up a play-off between the two Regional Squad members.
With neither player able to be separated through the opening three play-off holes, the contest was finally decided on the fourth. Psenko's missed par attempt opened the door for Beeston, who held his nerve to win the title.
He said: “It feels fantastic! I didn’t get off to the best of starts in my first round, I managed to steady the ship and then get hot during the front nine of the second round and managed to finish birdie, eagle, to force a play-off and then from there I was fortunate enough to get it done. I’m very happy with the outcome!
“I knew if I got to around level-par I’d have a good chance of getting in the play-off. I knew a few of the boys behind me were under par and fortunately, I managed to eagle the 18th to get to -1.
“It was great playing with Will (Psenko), he was great. He hardly put a foot wrong until that last hole. I played both holes the same way I had done in regulation with an iron and wedge down the first and driver and two irons into 18. I tried to stay calm and do my thing and let it happen and fortunately it worked out!”
Yorkshire's Ollie Scott finished 3rd after posting rounds of 72 and 75 for a 1-over-par total, ending the event two shots behind the leading pair. Check out the final leaderboard here.

Senior Men’s: Lindgren lands Senior Men’s title
A brilliant opening round of 68 (-5) proved the foundation for victory as Surrey’s Fredrik Lindgren claimed the Senior Men's County Champion of Champions title on the Hotchkin Course at Woodhall Spa.
Lindgren set the pace with an outstanding start which included an eagle on the par-5 6th and five birdies that saw him take a three-shot lead into the final day.
With the chasing pack closing the gap during the second round, Lindgren showed his composure when it mattered most. Despite seeing his advantage reduced, the Surrey player responded with key shots at crucial moments and carded a 74 (+1), featuring three birdies and four bogeys, to finish on 4-under-par overall and secure a three-shot victory.
He said: “It feels very good of course. It’s been a long three days for us, we had a tough day yesterday with the wind and a bit of rain and I think I played the round of my life!
“Today was a very long day trying to hold onto that lead. I started with a three-shot lead, it was down to one and I managed to pull out some good shots when I needed to and I’m really proud of that.”
Cheshire’s Gareth Bradley held onto a share of 2nd place after rounds of 73 and 72, while Durham’s Stuart Brown charged into contention with a bogey-free 70 (-3).
Brown's 3-under-par effort was the lowest final round of the day and lifted him into a tie with Bradley on 1-under-par. Check out the final leaderboard here.
