England Golf has today confirmed its Boys’ and Girls’ Squads for the 2023/24 season.

12 players have been rewarded for their excellent form over the past year, with all six being new faces in the Boys’ Squad and five new faces in the Girls’ Squad.
The dozen will receive six England Golf coaching sessions, one-to-one support from the England Golf coaching team and will feature in competitive tournaments in early 2024.
Surrey is represented by three players while there are individuals from each of Cambridgeshire, Cheshire, Essex, Lancashire, Norfolk, Northumberland, Nottinghamshire, Staffordshire and Sussex.
Girls’ Squad
Sadie Adams, 16 – Royal Birkdale GC, Lancashire
Charlotte Naughton, 15 – Ponteland GC, Northumberland
Annabel Peaford, 14 – Walton Heath GC, Surrey
Matilde Santilli, 16 – Foxhills GC, Surrey

Amelia Wan, 16 – Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire
Amelia Wan is named in the squad for the third season running following increased competitive experiences in Europe this summer. She finished runner-up at the Northampton Tigress in March, 4th at Fairhaven Trophies (Girls) in April and 7th at the English Girls’ Open Stroke Play Championship in July. August saw the Sherwood Forest youngster win all six points available to her in England Girls’ amazing Home Internationals win, before a top-20 finish at the English Women’s Open Stroke Play Championship in Manchester. She also represented England at the European Team Championship and in the England v Spain match in May.
Sadie Adams has enjoyed top-10 finishes at the Scottish Girls’ Open Championship as well as the R&A Girls’ U16 Amateur Championship and English U16 Girls. She featured for England Girls as they won the Home Internationals in August, as well as competing at the European Team Championship and European Young Masters. Adams also finished in the top-20 at the English Women’s Open Stroke Play Championship and was one of just three English players in the Great Britain & Ireland squad for the Junior Vagliano Trophy.
Charlotte Naughton (pictured below) recently won the North of England U16 Girls at Pannal Golf Club and enjoyed a top-10 finish at the English U16 Girls. She also represented England U16s in matches against Spain and Switzerland earlier this year.
Annabel Peaford was 2nd behind Naughton at August’s North of England U16 Girls, and finished 3rd at the English U14 Girls at Shifnal. She’s had top-20 finishes at the English Mixed and the English Girls’ U18 Championship, while she also represented England U16s in their win over Switzerland.
Matilde Santilli won the Northampton Tigress in March and finished 4th at the English U16 Girls. She had top-20 finishes at the English Women’s Stroke Play Championship in Manchester in August and the English Stroke Play, and also featured at the European Young Masters in Slovakia and represented England U16s v Spain.
Chloe Tarbard enjoyed victory at the English U16 Girls in early August and finished 5th at the North of England U16 Girls later that month. She has also featured for England U16s v Switzerland and Spain and along with Adams, was selected to represent Great Britain & Ireland at the Junior Vagliano Trophy.
Performance Manager for Women’s Golf, Becca Hembrough, said: “Five players are new to the national squad, all coming from their respective regional squads following strong performances across a wide number of U18 and age-group events this year. Amelia is coming into her third year in the programme and, as well as continuing to work hard on her game, she will naturally be a great leader within this group in how she goes about her business.
“Within the national girls’ programme, we continue the foundations set by the regional programme, focusing on the five pillars of performance and working with the players’ home teams to build, challenge and progress in their development. The players get access to world-class coaches, James Austin (Sport Psychologist), Dr Dan Coughlan (S&C and Physio), Nick Soto (Putting) and Steve Robinson (National Women’s Coach). They also receive support from Amy O Donnell (Nutritionist) and Dr Kelly McNulty (Female Health Expert).
“We look forward to welcoming the new National Girls’ Lead Coach following recruitment this month to complete the team that will support these players and teams in 2023/24. The top-class facilities at our disposal at the National Golf Centre and Quinta do Lago provide an excellent environment to do what we do best, and then we layer in strong competitive opportunities as a key piece of the development journey.”

Oliver Baker has enjoyed an impressive year, including a 2nd-place finish in May’s Lagonda Trophy at Gog Magog GC and a top-ten finish in April’s Fairhaven Trophies. He recently won an England Golf Boys’ Weekend at Woodhall Spa.
Enville’s Ben Bolton has had a stellar 2023 with an incredible European Young Masters win in Slovakia in July, as well as being crowned champion of the Faldo Series England (Midlands) title in April and Edge Golf Championships at Quinta do Peru, Portugal in February. He also finished 3rd at the McGregor Trophy and enjoyed a top-10 finish at the Peter McEvoy Trophy.
Daniel Hayes has picked up five top-ten finishes this calendar year, finishing 2nd at both the English U18 Championship (June) and the Cheshire Union Boys’ Championship (August), as well as a 3rd-place finish at the Spanish International U18 Championship in September. He has finished in the top-20 in 10 of 14 events in 2023 and was also winner of the North Group Men’s County Qualifying.
Monty Holcombe led Surrey to the Boys’ County Finals title in August and has enjoyed top-five finishes at both the Faldo Series England (South) and the English U18 Championship in July. He also featured for Great Britain & Ireland in the Jacques Leglise Trophy in France.
Drew Sykes has picked up four top-five spots in 2023, at the Bernard Darwin Youth Salver, Fairhaven Trophies, English U18 Championship and the Carris Trophy, while he also represented England Boys in the Home Internationals in August.
Oliver Toyer won the Cambridgeshire Junior Championship in July as well as finishing 2nd at the English U18 Championship. He also bagged a top-10 finish at Faldo Series England (South II) and top-20 finishes at Midlands Youths and the R&A Boys’ Amateur Championship.
Performance Manager for Men’s Golf, Stephen Burnett, said: “Last year’s squad have all gone on to earn US College Scholarships which is great for their development while this year’s group has seen the likes of Ben, Dan, Monty and Drew all play Under 16 matches for us. It’s an exciting year with all the players being new to the squad but who have enjoyed a great year of golf, showing good form and consistency.”
