Knighton Heath’s Paul Brine won a thrilling 2024 Men’s Race To Woodhall Spa Final, sponsored by Your Golf Travel, on countback after three players finished on 41 Stableford points.

Joe Pinnock (Kibworth) and Harry Camm (Spalding) also fired 41 points to join Brine at the top of the leaderboard, but it was the Dorset golfer who edged the pair on countback to take the honours.
In total, 48 players qualified for the grand final at Woodhall Spa through the 10 regional finals held across the country between May and June.
On a day where the south Lincolnshire sun was out, three players shone bright around the Hotchkin Course. Brine, playing off a handicap of 12, was the first player to put down a marker, scoring 41 points thanks to two birdies and eight pars which included four on the spin between holes 12 and 15. Then came Pinnock and Camm, playing in the same group.
Pinnock (32-handicap), enjoyed a fruitful round, picking up points on 16 of his 18 holes on his way to firing 41. Likewise, Camm (46-handicap), also had a great day, scoring on 17 holes, the only unsuccessful one being the par-4 13th, in his knock of 41 points.
With the three players level on points, it came down to the best score on the back-nine, with 50-year-old Brine narrowly clinching it with 21 points compared to Pinnock’s 20. Camm’s 14 points on the back-nine saw him finish in 3rd.
Countback was also the decider in the battle for 4th and 5th between Hennerton’s Harry Baker and Enville’s Michael Brennan, after both players ended the round with 40 points. In the end, it was Baker who took 4th place. View the final leaderboard.
