Castle Royle overturned a one-shot deficit on a rain-affected final day to secure the English Men's Champion Club at Stanton-on-the-Wolds Golf Club.

The Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire representative, shot a combined one over par to leapfrog overnight leader The South Staffordshire to win by two strokes.
Heavy overnight rain and a poor weather forecast led to the final round being reduced to nine holes.
And with only The South Staffordshire and Castle Royle in red numbers, it became a final day shootout in tricky conditions.
Castle Royle's Tim Shin (35), Nick Scrutton (38), and Tom Wilde (36) shot five birdies, alongside four bogeys and a double bogey, resulting in a gross score of -3, to put them two strokes ahead of the leaders.
Unbeknown to them at the time, the par-5 ninth and their final hole of the round became pivotal, with all three players making birdie.
When asked about the strategy heading into the final round, Wilde said: “I decided to get a little bit more aggressive. Yesterday felt a bit tighter. We have a lot of experience in our team, given that we've all played the game quite a long time. So today I tried to play with a bit more freedom and that kind of came through."
Tim Shin, added: “I knew it was going to be a grind all day so I was mentally prepared for that as soon as I woke up this morning, and just went out and hit the ball around."
Nick Scrutton, meanwhile, was keen to praise his teammates: “Tom and Tim didn't have their A games with them yesterday, but they really dug deep to get themselves back in it. When I was coming down nine today, I just thought, just two solid shots.
"We've played a lot of golf together and they’re two fantastic players. It was not an easy hole, we'd spoken about different tactics on it, and I think we played it three different ways today.
"What’s win it for us is our putting as the greens here are presented absolutely beautifully. The water they’ve taken on today, to play the way they have done, credit to the greenskeeping staff."
South Staffordshire maintained level par through five holes but faltered with two bogeys and two double bogeys on the last four holes, finishing three over par and dropping to second place.
Letchworth (Hertfordshire) finished third, scoring two under par, for a total gross score of +2, whilst Kibworth (Leicestershire & Rutland) finished fourth, ahead of North Hants (Hampshire).
Jack Edwards of Shifnal Golf Club (Shropshire) had the best round of the day, shooting a 32, including an eagle and three birdies.
In the individual, Richard Wale (Leicestershire & Rutland) fired rounds of 70 and 34 to claim top spot with five under.
Robert Wheeler (Hampshire) and Phil Dormer finished tied-second a shot behind, whilst Ronnie Groves was fourth on three under with two below par rounds (71 and 35).
