Ellie Lichtenhein became the European Young Masters Champion, leading an England Girls' Squad 1-2 at Racing Club de France (RCF) La Boulie.

The Buckinghamshire golfer fired rounds of 70, 70, and 73 to finish on -3, edging her teammate and defending champion, Annabel Peaford (-1), by two shots.
"I'm feeling amazing," said the 15-year-old. "It's so nice to get a big win, and it was one of the big things on my list for 2025. I'm really glad that I was able to pull it off and play some solid golf all week."
Lichtenhein was pushed to the end by Peaford (Walton Heath), who closed her -1 final round with an incredible eagle on the par-5 18th.
But the top under-16 player at this year's Scottish Girls' U18 Championship made an invaluable birdie on the par-5 17th before holding her nerve with a par down the last.
Peaford (pictured below) added: "It was a good defence coming 2nd. It was an interesting round, but I'm looking forward to the events ahead."
The duo will return to home shores and head straight to Old Fold Manor for the English Girls' U16 Championship (29-31 July). Previous winners include Georgia Hall, Annabell Fuller, Lily May Humphreys, Florentyna Parker and Felicity Johnson.
In the boys' event in France, Hillside's George Whitehead finished tied-11th, while Tom Hartshorne (Teeside) placed tied-35th.
In the overall category, England combined to finish tied-4th, missing out on a medal by a single shot on -5.
