“I’d just like to thank all my team who helped me throughout this year and to continue with me on the journey.”

Another target is to continue being consistent and pick up some titles in 2026, and lastly to perform well and enjoy my first LPGA event - the CPKC Women’s Open - before heading off to the University of Alabama.”

“2025 turned out to be a brilliant year overall. It began with my first hole-in-one and continued with graduating from the University of St Andrews with my chemistry degree. But the standout moment was winning the English Amateur at Royal Liverpool.
“Growing up on the Wirral, the chance to win at Hoylake felt almost unreal. The support I received throughout the week was incredible, and sharing the moment of the final putt with all my family is something I will treasure forever. It made the whole journey, from all childhood rounds to that final day, feel complete.
“Now that I am in working life, things are naturally a bit different heading into this winter. Even so, I still plan to prepare properly for the events in the spring and summer, and I hope to build on everything I achieved in 2025.”
England Senior Men - John Kennedy (Consett & District, Durham)
The 25-year-old enjoyed a 3rd-place finish at the Helen Holm Scottish Women’s Open and The R&A Student Tour Series – Final, along with a 2nd-place finish at The R&A Student Tour Series in Spain.

England Senior Men - John Kennedy (Consett & District, Durham)

John Kennedy enjoyed a remarkable 2025 with wins at The R&A Senior Amateur Championship and the Scottish Senior Men’s Open. His victories earned him an exemption into the professional ISPS Handa Senior Open event in the USA, playing alongside some of the game’s legends, and also the US Senior Amateur, where he finished tied-33rd.
On the team front, the 56-year-old represented England in the Senior Women’s & Men’s Home Internationals and also at the European Senior Men’s Team Championship in Austria.
He said: “Winning the OOM was something that I didn't think would be possible as I'm still working and therefore can only play in a few events each year. Winning it is a fantastic feeling especially as I know how good the people are who play in the events. I'm very proud to have finished the year on top of the OOM.
“There have been so many standout moments. Winning the Scottish, with my brother on the bag and a few of my England teammates standing behind the 18th green to cheer me on, was very special. I didn't think anything could beat that feeling until I managed to win the British Senior Amateur with my partner, Louise, on the bag. Louise was more nervous than me and when we eventually walked off the 18th hole as champions, just being able to share that moment with Louise, was very special.
“My target for 2026 remains exactly the same as 2025, to try to make the England team for the end of the season. Representing England has always been my ambition and making the team this year is one thing I'm extremely proud of, and that will remain my ambition for as long as I keep playing.
“I've loved getting to know all the England Squad members, they’re a great bunch of people who are so supportive of everyone involved with the squad. England team success in 2026 would be the icing on the cake.”
